Technical Sales Engineer

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently looking for an additional Applications Engineer (Sales) to join our established, growing and respected team of, based from our Droitwich, West Midlands offices.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Generating new qualified sales leads using experience of the Automation markets and prospective industries
  • Identifying & interpreting customer requirements & converting them to costed solutions
  • Producing technical proposals to the required level of detail as identified in the tender/RFQ
  • Responding to customer enquiries & requests promptly, professionally and effectively
  • Managing and prioritising workload as required, applying a measured approach according to urgency/importance
  • Effectively presenting proposals and solutions to customers in line with requirements, & handle questions & feedback constructively & professionally
  • Effectively negotiate & close a sale
  • Working as part of a sales/proposals team & adapting as required to ensure all workloads are prioritised
  • Achieve buy in to proposed solution of all stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Contribute to the overall business as required whether, or not the task is directly related to job role

Secondary duties will involve:

  • Following Group and Company policies and procedures at all times
  • Using all Company equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with Company procedures
  • Reporting all health and safety issues and concerns to your line manager and/or a Health and Safety Representative in a timely and professional manner
  • Familiarise oneself with, and adhere to, the Company’s Equality Policy at all times
  • Adhering to Corporate Company Values and Business Ethics at all times

To be considered for this role you will need to possess and be able to demonstrate:

  • A HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Handling/Automation Industry
  • Highly organised & self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • A sound understanding of MS Office packages & basic CAD
  • An adaptable & flexible team player
  • Good technical literacy skills

Although the role is to be based from our Droitwich hub, the successful candidate will be required to regularly travel to other locations within the UK and worldwide, therefore a valid passport and full UK driving licence is mandatory.

This is a permanent position within a global player who is currently at the forefront of innovative and integrated automotive, control and security screening systems. The role offers varied and challenging opportunities to join an established, growing and respected team of Automation Engineers. In return you can expect a competitive base salary of circa £40 - 45,000 per annum, together with all the normal benefits you would expect from a global employer - pension, private medical and life insurance.
